"It’s important to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that."
1. I managed to carve out some time to straighten our bedroom. I prefer having a nice sanctuary for us, but it usually ends up being a "catch all' for the junk in our house. I hope it stays clean and free of clutter for longer than a day - HA!!
2. I got Lovely to the ENT on Monday. We were done just assuming all kids snored, or she just has a sensitive nose or constant allergies. I updated the other day that she DOES need surgery to remove her adenoids. It should be very routine, and hopefully easy. I got it scheduled for next Thursday. If all goes well, it will be a VERY Thankful Thursday around our home. Thanks for your prayers!! Interestingly enough, it took me asking for him to look at her adenoids. He was ready to start more benign, medicated, treatments - but I've done all that. So I became politely more forward and asked if he could look. He numbed her up, got the camera scope, and went in. Lovely was FANTASTIC!! Even I could tell how blocked she was! So, mommy instincts work!!! Trust them :)
3. I've managed to juggle a few extra errands and time commitments this week while still being there for the family and the girls. That's pretty big for me!!
Thankful Thursday
- I'm thankful for my gorgeous girls - their small and big ways of bringing a smile to my face, and to others.
- I'm thankful for a very generous and sweet dental hygienist for letting Lovely assist in cleaning my teeth, and use much of the dental equipment when I was getting my teeth cleaned. It was comical, and she helped me parent when all I could do was say "Wah Wah Wah Wah Whaaawahahah" like the teacher on Peanuts.
- I'm thankful for Italian food.
- I'm thankful for a good belly laugh.
- I'm thankful for this weekend and great friends and fun family memory making!!!!
Much love!!!

Sounds like a great week! I can so relate to that messy bedroom. My problem is clean laundry - if the baby's awake, I can't leave her downstairs to put it away, if she's sleeping, its in our bedroom! Anyhow - thanks for checking in on me, it was just a really busy week (I think I counted 10 days in a row with evening stuff!). Bless you! And I loved Wordless Wed. this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment and prayers. Congratulations on your successes. I like #1 on your thankful list!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless!
Congratulations on your successes! Will you come create a sanctuary in my bedroom for me?!?! It seems to be the dump-all in our house too!
ReplyDeleteYou have some great successes! My daughter's room is the "catch all" room and boy does it need to be cleaned up.
ReplyDeleteGreat job trusting your instincts :D
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the bedroom. Somehow that is always the last thing I get to, even what it seems highest on the NEED to do list! I should follow your lead, and make it a higher priority!
ReplyDeleteWe'll pray for a successful surgery for your little one!
I hear you on the bedroom! Of course our "sanctuary" is anyhing but; since, our kids all want to sleep with us! All the best with Lovely's surgery.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Will be praying for successful treatment of our little one's adenoids. She sounds like a good patient.
ReplyDeleteGo you! Way to get that appointment scheduled. I'm going to remember your instincts story the next time I try to second guess mine. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHey Friends,
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the kind words. Thanks for the prayers too for Lovely! I've been excited to see what you've been up to as well. I'll keep you posted on everything here!
THANKS!
Yes, keeping that master bedroom clean and clutter free is SO hard! I actually put that down as one of my small successes last week. It looks like a pattern for us moms. Hmm, wonder why? Anyway, I hope Lovely gets to feeling better soon! God bless!
ReplyDeleteI can so relate both to the semi-sanctum of the bedroom AND the child with adenoids. :) Best of luck with both (and definite prayers for the surgery).
