Just my Friday Five list! Fill free to add yours in the comments or on your blog!
1. I'm so tired. I'm not a huge fan of when Spring Break and Easter weekend falls on the same week! Going to the mountains with family, and then meeting up with friends afterward has left me tired - but a happy tired (don't get me wrong). I'm just tired now as we head into another big family weekend, egg hunts, church services, and activities. I hate the fatigue distracts me from the "reason for the season".
2. I'm looking forward to taking Lovely to her 1st Children's Stations of the Cross. We've never gone, and we'll be joining M and her kids and others - maybe even D and kids - this morning. We'll see how it goes. I have high hopes for an enjoyable learning and spirtual experience Lovely can enjoy (me too!). We're starting the morning with a breakfast of Hot Cross Buns, and Lovely is very excited!
3. Holy Thursday mass was really great. Lovely did really well for having her 1st experience (at our home church, we've gone to Mass with Holly's wonderful family before out of town) of going to a long mass with a friend sitting next to her (distraction!!) but she and little M did pretty well. Ok, in my book - REALLY well. They played, looked at hymnals together, swapped toys, sometimes giggled too loud, etc - but we never had to take them out. Afterwards, we parted ways with our friends and before we headed to our car, we stopped by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the chapel. Lovely was studying everyone praying (Valiant just played on the floor) and she quietly kneeled and whispered "Dear Jesus, please come into my heart (I think my heart melted at that) and thanks for wearing the crown of thorns." She really surprises me with her deepness. As her mother, I really should not get so surprised by her, but she touches my heart so often and I don't know how I deserve to be her mother. She really has a wonderful soul!!! I basked a few minutes in Adoration just soaking up the feeling of being in Christ's presence inside and out, in front of me, and all around me, and sharing it with my girls. I felt a great peace on me, and so blessed to have 2 lovely daughters when so many either are either struggling to concieve, etc. I wished Hubby could have been there with me - but he can come tonight to the Veneration of the Cross service.
3. I have some goals today - cook a casserole (veggie) for a simple, small meal and bake a batch of Resurrection Rolls with Lovely to see how they turn out (never made them before) and see if I can make a 2nd batch again on Sat to save for Sunday's Easter meal (I'll be cooking a ham, so I can't bake rolls at the same time). If they don't do well overnight, I'll have to do or buy a plan B for Sunday.
4. I do plan on making a post with pictures from this week's activities and trips. I've just been so busy. I need Lovely to go back to preK so I have some time to myself to actually get the pics organized and blog when Val naps HAHA! :) It has been a great week!!
5. This is one of my favorite website links. Anyone with kids or just needing a "zen" like break in your day....hit the big play button arrow and go to town!!! I never can post this enough! http://www.baby-to-sleep.com/ It's geared for babies to listen to, but ANYONE could get a boost from this!!!
Have a great Friday!! Happy Passover, Triduum, Easter, and life :) May this weekend be fantastic and blessed!

V- thanks for your comments on Small Successes - I just wanted to pass on two ideas my hubby and I use constantly about receiving guests: 1- we often laughingly say "Quick, 3 selahs of flour" what Abraham said to Sarah when they received the Holy Trinity at their tent. And "Choose Hospitality over Pride" - it really does come down to that when my house is dirty and I am tempted to turn away someone at my door. (Do you think theres a blog post in there somewhere? LOL)
ReplyDeleteGod Bless You and Yours this Triduum!!!
I'd love to see that post :) I'd read it!!
