Small Successes and Thankful Thursday

Good Morning!!

Another Thursday has come! As I write this post breakfast while Lovely gets ready for school, it's a nice feeling to know we all woke up easy, and are already fed and full from a good, "morning fuel" breakfast. I was starting to get concerned about a cough from Lovely, but it seems MIA now. I hope we all continue to have a great day! But, I have to look back....did I have any successes this week?

FaithButton

1. Well, up until this morning I THOUGHT I was keeping the house pretty clean, with the help of Lovely and fam. But now my kitchen floor looks a little less spotless. BUT, still - overall...I've kept up with things way better than last week!

2. I've managed to cook meals again (after slacking this summer!) this week and last. I've broken out the crock pot again and made some great meals if I do say so myself! I've tried some new stove top and oven recipes and my family has been really excited!

3. I've been trying to do some more "Spirit" feeding lately. It was easy to slip away from anything that built up my faith, and its amazing how I can feel less "zing" in my day and mood. I've been trying to do some devotional reading as soon as I wake up, so my day has some definition. I can't tell you how our school schedule has helped me do that!

What are your successes? Have you taken an inventory yet?

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for...

1. Getting to enjoy this yesterday. So fun and quintessential childhood....
2. a really good visit yesterday. It is amazing how a good conversation and a even better person can lighten the heart.
3. my family!
4. that my time with E is going so well, even with some mutual "both girls fussiness" yesterday.
5. my parents' health - they are both doing so well!
6. my niece, and that we get to see her this weekend!
7. a group church date night this weekend. We love our supper group and fellowship!!
8. patient friends in my life - who put up with my quirks, worries, and apologies with a lot of grace. You have NO idea how grateful and humbled I am.
9. health.
10. For my God who is there for me, even when I feel...well...I haven't been enough!!!

Off to walk to school! Much love!!

  1. Cooking would be a huge success in my book. If everyone in our house would eat the same meal (husband included), I think I'd be more motivated to cook.

  2. Wonderful successes! Our crockpot gets a real workout during the school year. I don't know what we'd do without it!

  3. Congratulations on your successes! I've been so tired lately that meal planning has all but slipped my mind! I really need to get organized, esp. now that we're back in school. I also have the same problem as Karen mentioned above...too many picky eaters in my house!

  4. I've also gotten the crock pot out this past week. I love it! My son even ate a few bites of the chili I made last night. My kids basically eat raw veggies and rice or bread for dinner every night. Unless we're having hot dogs. They like hot dogs.

  6. Although it would probably do me good, I haven't been able to focus enough to get back to my own thankful thursday lists. I'm lifted through yours, though.

  7. I use my crock pot, welll ahuge pot in our wood stove all year round as we love stews in all weathers.

I love reading your thankful list.
I am often too scared to try this as I am afraid I would not be thankful enough.

I have passed on a loyalty award to you on my blog too♥

    God Bless

  8. Yay for "spirit feeding" :). After college and part of grad school (I'm a PhD dropout... I wanted my MRS more) I was so tired of reading that I refused to look at a book for months. Recently I've started spiritual reading again (and philosophy as well... just couldn't stay away) and it's AMAZING how it jump starts one's spiritual life!!

Any good devotional works you could recommend?

  9. I'm glad I'm not the only one who slacked off in the kitchen this summer. Even my kids are getting sick of these thrown together so-called meals I've been serving up lately! I am cooking a real meal today and everyone keeps commenting on how good things smell. I forgot how nice the compliments can be. :)
God bless you, and thanks for stopping by my blog.
