THANK YOU to all who serve, and have served
for our country.
I'm especially proud of my 86 year old father, a veteran of WWII and Korea
as well as the reserves who flew missions for the OSS - before they were the CIA and before there was even an Air Force (back then, the air corp was part of the army).
He went to speak at the local history museum about his experiences on Sunday.
While his original air corp uniform from WWII was lost in a move, his original Air Force uniform and decorations are still in his possession, and he can still fit into them - AMAZING! Here he is below.
THANK YOU daddy!!! Happy Memorial Day!
He is a Lt. Col. Retired.

I loved reading about your Dad - my grandfather graduated from West Point before there was an Air Force and also went into the air corp. He was one of the first pilots in the "new" Air Force.
ReplyDeleteI love those old dress blues! Thanks to your father! As the wife of a man currently serving in the Air Force (in Korea, just about done with his tour without us) it is always really interesting to hear stories about how things got started, how careers were back then, when the AF was just a baby.
ReplyDeleteThank you both! I'd love to hear more of your stories too!
ReplyDeleteTracy - many thanks to your hubby for serving!!!
Your dad is very handsome in his uniform! Tell him thank you for his service.
