I finally have a good week to report on for the "small stuff." WOOT WOOT!
1. While we still have clutter, we got rid of a TON of things with the 40 days/40 bags. It was awesome. Hubby did it too with the garage, office area, under beds, etc and I tackled closets, rooms, clothing, corners, etc. We still have more we can do, but man - the dent we made? FEELS GOOD. The garage sale we did was also awesome! Our guestroom is still the storage area for our future baby boy's clothing (I need to get him a dresser or something) but I feel more peace finally about my surroundings and nesting. Hubby and I also had to work through some things doing it - how I need his help, how I need him to "notice" more and offer more - I just am hitting a wall with the two girls AND being 9 months pregnant (plus the hormones). I also need to remember to relax, let go some control issues, and be more patient with him and myself. It's a work in progress always!
2. The house is "straight" as of this very moment. Do not come and do a white glove test, but I will take 'straight' over 'deep cleaned' any day. I was really in a tizzy last weekend about the state of the whole house, and this week working as a team (With Hubby and Lovely) has made things so much better. I sit in a freshly mopped kitchen, clean counters, while the rest of the house is decent enough for surprise guests and me not wigging out about it. YIPPEE!!! It's so neat Lovely loves doing chores and helping out. Love her!
3. The laundry is caught up with! Things are folded, put away, and seasonal clothing has been switched out. The girls drawers are more orderly (I have this fear of going into labor, and family and friends helping us having to go into their rooms - or mine - to get them things for their care and finding out how chaotic we REALLY are behind closet doors and drawers LOL and not finding what they need!!) and again, that brings me some major peace.
So, awesome week!!!!
Bonus 4 - We're checking another thing off my "to do list before baby arrives": Maternity pictures. In the past, I've taken these myself with a tripod or Hubby's help, but a wonderful friend is trying to start a photography business and offered to take our family's photos today outside this afternoon. The focus is my belly and new life, but incorporating the whole family and family moments as we all anticipate baby. I can't wait! She mentioned it would help her to get some newborn shots of baby boy when he's here to boost her portfolio, so we may get to do that too after he arrives. SO NEAT!!!!! I can't wait to post them! I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY!
How is your week?
Thankful Thursday
This week I am thankful for...
1. blessings from above.
2. healthy kicking within me.
3. the arrival (soon) of our precious son!
4. my incredible husband working with me, dating me, forgiving me, and lol, challenging me this week!
5. my incredible daughters.
6. my parents for stepping up the last few weeks with offers of care for Valiant, etc - giving them time to bond (yippee!), me some time for me, and even offering to 'practice' with both girls tomorrow evening with an overnight so Hubby and I can have some alone time and they can get the girls acquainted with staying with them some overnight when the baby arrives. SO AWESOME! THANK YOU!
7. my sister and my friends....they are absolutely incredible.
Blessings!!!! Much love!

Great successes! I'm forever trying to get rid of clutter. I think if I cut down on shopping I might have a little less clutter, but then what would I do with myself? I'm with you on having a straightened house. Mine was all nice and neat on Monday but it's back to chaos again. If only the house could just stay clean.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome week. Take care of yourself in this home stretch!
ReplyDeleteYay, so excited to meet your son when he comes! I come home on the 17th, so maybe during that week I can come over and relieve you a bit. I can at least take the girls and give you some down time with your baby.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are really nesting. :) Enjoy your clean house! Great successes.
ReplyDeleteThanks all!! Laura - I may take you up on it lol!!
ReplyDeleteThanks all, so much - and amen Karen!
