Today is the Feast of St. Blaise, and last evening to prepare, Lovely and I had fun! She colored a page on St. Blaise (even reported to Daddy about St. Blaise) and then we spent time making candle cookies (first created from Family Fun magazine, and then done here as well). It was VERY fun constructing them!!!
We used sugar free shortbread cookies and vanilla wafers for the base, but the rest was close to the printed "recipe." Lovely had a blast (especially making orange sugar), and it was fun to just sit together & talk faith and fun, all about the feast day, and to laugh and learn. I love having time with her like this!!

SO SUPER COOL! I love how you are celebrating these feast days with Lovely... One of my favorite feasts was St. Blaise. I remember going to mass in the morning and Fr. Pat blessing our throats with the crossed candles.
ReplyDeleteOkay... my ABSOLUTE favorite was the Assumption, though. Nothing like 200 balloons flying into the sky!!!
Big hugs and many thanks for all your comments, prayers, and kind words. They are always, always appreciated!
These are so cool -- I've been wishing I had planned ahead to make these too. :) You do lovely things to celebrate with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteHey MT...I don't really plan ahead as I steal ideas lol. I use:

and this GREAT mom blog by Erin:

She does GREAT stuff with her daughters (and it would work for sons most of the time!)
Hope this helps!! Thanks M.T for your nice comment.
Tess - Big hugs back to you! And thanks for sharing your fav day - we never did the 200 balloons...that is neat!
Much love ladies!
