Whew!!! It has been some week. It's had wonderful ups and some bummer downs that made me burned out from blogging on my own blog - but I've found success too!! We are looking at a pretty good weekend ahead. Hubby and I have a group date night at my old high school for an alumni event - it should be fun! Gotta love Trivia night (that's the alumni theme for the evening, so we made a team of old friends to compete! Though, I think I should pass my neighbor buddy off as a classmate of ours because she and her husband are AMAZING at trivia...LOL!). But we're trying to get caught up with massive house organization projects. We need to get our freezer fixed, new knobs on the ancient oven, I'd love to finally fix the dishwasher door instead of propping it tight lol, purge and organize, clean, and paint some trim. A good motivator is out of town family coming Presidents Weekend...so we'll see. I'd like to get some flowers (good for a southern winter AND don't need a lot of water or TLC from me lol) for my front porch pot, and fix up the yard again. We had a sick baby in the house this weekend and no heat because of a billing glitch (to further explain...I thought it was our light was out - but the guy came and said it had to do with autopay? Is that why they took days to come out???), so I had a lot of catchup to do with my sink overflowing with dishes, laundry, house straightening. But we survived!
But, I'm rambling . What has gotten done this week?
1. Tonight's dinner is already cooking! Seasoned ribs! For sure I'll steam some veggies with it, but maybe I'll do this recipe too - a friend just told me about this yesterday at a preK meeting. She RAVED about them! Compared to ones you would buy, they are MUCH healthier!
2. I got behind on laundry again....but with the family's help we are all folded and caught up (barring one tiny load I'll do today and fold this evening). But, it was a huge problem! It feels so good to have it done!
3. I also straightened the house yesterday. Not a deep clean, and I'm so lost where we are in Flylady this week cause of illness, but after working out with S yesterday I was done with all the adult and Lovely made clutter backing up from the weekend. She cleaned her room after we had a stern talk about sharing, being gracious to playdate friends and NOT bullying (oye oye!) , as well as cleaning her room better than she has been. It looks great, and I did the same with most rooms in the house. My dining room table is still a hot spot - but I'll attack it soon.
I'm SO ready for a nap today. I love we have no plans till before dinner and Val and I can stay in. I think we'll be napping soon and for hopefully most of the morning. I'm having one of those weeks dealing with different family issues, hormones, other stuff, and the power of the UNspoken word and the effects, and it messes with my emotions. It's given me a lot to pray about, think about, and reflect on. It's also a good exercise on letting go of my worries - and BOY my emotional muscles hurt from the workout LOL! The whole week reminds me how fallible I am and I don't know it all - even in my own family. Wait...aren't I supposed to be right all the time? No? Really? LOL!
Check back tomorrow - I hope to load some pics of Lovely's new imagined character. I love that girl!!!
Thankful Thursday
This week I'm most grateful for...
1. my friends.
2. the ability to talk differences out via a discussion, NOT a debate.
3. my husband who is so patient with me while I go hormonal.
4. face to face interaction!
5. my wonderful God, who is waiting to be placed back into His rightful position on my priorities this week....sorry Almighty Dude! (and wow...look...he's #5 on my list. When will I learn?)
6. my girls...Valiant started giving bear hugs this week and saying "Hi Dare" as she waves, and Lovely who has been so fun this week with her creativity.
7. my 25 week developing son, kicking away as I type. I'm so excited!! Keep on growing boy!!
8. for a healthy pregnancy thus far - AMEN!
How was your week? What are you thankful for?
Much love!!!

Don't you know that the youngest child is always the rightest child? Tee hee!
ReplyDeleteSending virtual hugs and love your way!
Enjoy your lazy morning/day!
I have two girls not sharing toy trains, so I have to keep this short. But I really wanted to tell you that you are an inspiration and I don't just mean the successes you list but the WAY you list them. You have an awesome attitude! Keep it up! God Bless!!!
ReplyDeleteMicrowave potato chips? Ingenious! Thanks for the tip :).
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
"Almighty Dude" LOL! I think there was a a picture of him a few days ago on the Crescat's blog.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you are 25 weeks along already. He'll be here before you know it! Hang in there with the pregnancy hormones. I was hit hard with the hormones in both of my pregnancies. (It's part of what makes me hesitate to have another baby.) I was such a hormonal mess that I dubbed myself "Massive Mood Swing Karen". One can only imagine why I don't have a house full of children.
Hope you get your nap!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've had a busy, rough week. Cyber hugs & lots of prayers for you! Hope you're enjoying your nap right now...you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Those chips sound good! I'll have to give them a try.
LOVE the chips! I look forward to giving the recipe a try.
ReplyDeleteI hope the "Almighty Dude" walks with you this week creating a more peaceful world around you.
I continue to hold you and your newest little one in my prayers.
Have a fantastic week!
I think your neighbor buddy may be my sister and her husband. They are UNREAL at trivia games. It's crazy. It's almost not even fun unless you split them up :)
ReplyDeleteOOh, and I am right there with you on your #3 thing to be thankful for. I have been so anxious this past week. Poor hubby has been the sweetest. I finally feel like myself again today and am not worrying about every little thing...
Hey All -
ReplyDeleteTo both my IRL friends commenting here, and my wonderful cyber buddies - your words have been a real lift after a long week. I just wanted to say thank you for the warmth and the boost you've given me. I loved smiling more today, and a lot of that was just from the simple kind words you offered.
Thanks for your posts too. It's so nice to know we're all trudging through this life together!
Many blessings!
Oh - we made the chips.....SO YUMMY!!!!! And I didn't feel guilty eating them, or my kids and hubby!
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers, Mama!! :D
ReplyDeleteOT: everytime I see your handle I get giddy, I'm technically a Viola Mama. ;)
