I'm still here! Just enjoying our almost 1 month old son (tomorrow he hits that milestone!) and not blogging as much because of him and getting used to our new routine (or lack of) aside from slapping pics on here every few days. But, I report we are doing well. I feel good, blues are fading, and the excitement and love just grows! He's amazing. He loves to snuggle, cuddle, and seems to know his days and nights well. Now, he still feeds ALL NIGHT, but does sleep between feedings which is SO NEW to us. I'm used to babies who don't sleep, so I'm not going to complain - he sleeps when he can! Yippee!
So, with that, and the fact I'll need to nurse him soon - here are my 3 successes for our "Small Successes" Thurs:
1. I'm learning to say "yes" to help - from friends taking my kids for me, to delivered meals, to friends folding my laundry, to my parents driving Val to camp, and my sister taking Lovely this week. I love doing for others, but why is it hard to say yes for myself? I can tell you I'm getting really good at saying yes - haha! So beware!! hehe!
2. I got my birth story completed!! I love a record of these...and also celebrated with my husband our 9th wedding anniversary....
3. I'm napping more this week while Lovely is out of town with my sister, and Val is at a summer camp in the mornings. I need to take advantage before I'm back in charge of 3 kids instead of 1. It's so nice to sleep when the baby sleeps this week (Val does camp - and is loving it from 9am-1pm, eats lunch there, then comes home and naps till 4-4:30pm!!! Can you hear the Angels sing "AHHHHHHHHH" in chorus lol).
Speaking of, I need to go get her up and ready for camp before I try and nap - but I'll end with a little thankful list...
Thankful Thursday
This Week I am Thankful For....
1. my son!
2. our current good health!
3. my great God!
4. my Hubby!
5. our amazing family and friends....AMAZING. Thank you...love you!!
Blessings!!

Great list my friend!! Learning to say "yes" to help can be so difficult but in the end such a gift especially for a new Momma. So enjoy this little respite.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome week!
I can't believe he's a month old already! Good for you getting some much needed & well-deserved rest. Take care & enjoy that precious boy of yours! God Bless!
ReplyDeleteYAYYYY!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the birth of your sweet baby boy!!!!! I am SO happy for you!!!!!
I look forward to that birth story!
And I'm SO PROUD of you for accepting help!
In fact, we just published an entire e-article on our website entitled, "Learning to Ask for Help When Needed"! GOOD FOR YOU!!!!
Enjoy these precious, sacred, wonderful days of LOVE in your home!!!!!!!
Good for you on napping! So so important!! Be sure to take care of yourself, I know how hard it is to say yes to your own needs when so many are clamouring for your help. Give yourself permission to NOT clean during times when you could be napping. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Congrats Congrats Congrats! I haven't stopped by in a month and lo, the baby is here. Much congratulations. Many blessings. Wonderful news.
ReplyDeleteOne month? Really? Wow!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are such a help to so many, you deserve to be helped too. We all love you.
