Small Successes and Thankful Thursday - "Get R Done" Edition

FaithButton

Well, despite being 13 weeks and 4 days along (I keep thinking I'm further along than I am, and I know I must be confusing people. I'm due May 11th, so what the heck am I?? lol) This week I put aside my tiredness to do something. While putting me first was most important, I've gotten SO behind, and it was affecting my mood. So this week I....

1. Caught up on all the laundry. WEEKS worth. That feels good!

2. I cleaned the house. Hubby helped too. I even decided that to move me along I would offer to host both my woman's church prayer group on Tuesday and a playdate on Friday. That should keep me on top of things till Saturday when we host Supper Club again. I just need some order...if I have peace, then I can nap again...and it is ALL about the naps right now!!!

3. While staying awake cleaning, I listened to great podcasts, and did some prayerful reflecting and reaching out to others about homeschooling. My one e-mail flowered into different women supporting each other - what a boost to my spirit and how nice to know I'm walking with others in purpose and faith! I think I will stick to my goal of home schooling 1st grade next fall for Lovely, while balancing Valiant and a new baby - even if I can't afford a MDO or 2 year old preK class for Val to attend so Lovely gets more of my undivided time. Any readers out there want to give me any advice on homeschooling with a toddler and newborn? Bring it on!

How is your week?

Thankful Thursday
I'm terribly thankful for....

1. My Woman's Prayer group - awesome!!!
2. My husband.
3. My girls!
4. My unborn baby - whom I think I can feel fluttering really low if I'm on my back and still (and full belly and bladder - am I crazy? Maybe it is the "3rd pregnancy" and knowing what to look for?)
5. My FRIENDS!
6. My family.
7. Veterans who have or currently protect us, and their families who also sacrifice. THANK YOU!

Have a GREAT day - you are WORTH it!!!

  1. Great job on all that cleaning! You hit on a wonderful secret tip...inviting people over is one of my best friend's way to get her house cleaned!!!
YAY! You are sticking with the homeschooling plan!
    PLEASE visit http://www.thebestofhomeschoolfaithandfamilylife.com/
There's MUCH there for you about teaching different levels and keeping toddlers happy all the while!
EMAIL ME ANY TIME VIOLINMAMA! We can travel the road TOGETHER!!!!!!!!
And thanks for bringing back a lovely memory of my younger married days...supper club! We used to do a "traveling" one...snacks at one house, main course at the next...dessert at the third...It was such fun and we all lived in the same development so we could just walk from house to house! ENJOY YOUR SUPPER TIME WITH FRIENDS!

  2. I agree w/ Judy...having a goal in mind really helps to get the house cleaned up. I think I may have to look up that website she mentioned, too. Even though I've been homeschooling from the beginning, I could still use lots of advice on balance.

As to #4 on your "Thankful Thursday" - I found that I could feel my 3rd & 4th much earlier than the first too. What a wonderful feeling! Blessings to you & continued prayers for a healthy pregnancy!

  3. Oh bummer, man. You just reminded me how much laundry I have to do before naptime is over.

    *sigh*

    I must go.

  4. I've been struggling significantly with having a toddler, a new baby, and homeschooling. I turned to the ladies at the Real Learning forums, and as always they offered me a lot of practical help and suggestions. As you gear up for your year, you might find the thread helpful!
