Check it out from start to finish:
She wanted 1/2 to be pink, and the other to be green like a field (with some red in it too??).
and of COURSE, pink icing! (Notice icing on mouth....)
Time for the field on top! (Yes, I did say "field")
Great job on the green!
Now, for the toppings. Nothing says HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY like a spider, lion in a cage, zebra and Sleeping Beauty. This is of COURSE why we needed a field of green....
Oh - and you know how in the Disney version of Sleeping Beauty her dress turns from blue to pink? Lovely thought the cake should too.....
She was so proud of herself. Again, notice icing on lips....
The cake, all done. Lovely waits for Daddy to return home.....
Now, it is near bedtime, but he is home. And LOVES his B-day dessert - all made by Lovely at every step! We LOVE YOU DADDY!! You are the best, and we owe you everything.

ha ha! she is a dear.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeletegorgeous cake. I wish my children would make me one as creative as that.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Love the photo of M and R at the end :-) Happy Birthday Matt!!
ReplyDeleteShe did a great job! My kids have never offered to decorate the cake for my husband, but we've have a few times where we had to order a princess cake for daddy because that's that he REALLY wants. I love the cake themes my kids pick out for different family members. Their uncle gets cool boy themed cakes, but daddy always gets something girly.
ReplyDeleteThat is sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks EVERYONE. I think we've found a new tradition. It was so nice to just sit back and watch her excitement. I need to do it more often...despite any mess ;)
ReplyDeleteLovies!!!
