I first learned of this meme from on of my new favorite blog finds - "Camp Patton" (seriously, Grace is HYSTERICAL and if I could just let myself go, this would be the writing style I'd let lose in! She has such a dry, sarcastic wit about motherhood in the trenches). LOVE it. (Thanks for the rec, Kris!).
I've noticed some participants actually list brands and such and where to find their clothes. I have to chuckle because I am so ignorant of who I'm wearing. But I'll try! Also, I'm not sure how long I can do this meme, because I don't own 52 different outfits. Maybe this meme is supposed to inspire versatility?
Ok...so without further adieu - here's What I wore Sunday. Hosted by Fine Linen and Purple.
Well - here I am on a lovely fall Sunday, Veteran's Day, and also the 60th Wedding Anniversary of my beloved Aunt and Uncle, who are also my Godparents. They are a truly amazing couple. Six living children, one daughter in heaven (their first child, Rosemary, who sadly got sick and passed away before her 1st birthday), 15+ grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, and GREAT nieces and nephews, a 25 year serving deacon that just retired because my aunt needed more full time care after a stroke (BTW, she is doing really amazing...walking slowly, talking slowly, but doing so well!). They are simply amazing. They renewed their vows at the end of Mass, and it was so inspirational. They were giving a standing ovation. There was a lovely lunch following. Sadly, the children and I had to skip the sit down luncheon. The younger two children were very animated, and had been good for a VERY long Mass (part of the homily was spent showing how to use a new directory database for church records for each family to maintain themselves - REALLY??? MY uncle was about to blow a gasket!! LOL!) I heard I made the right decision when my dad called later to say the food was late to be served. Go mommy instincts!
Anyways - how does this meme work? I talk about my outfit? Ok - so I'm wearing a black sweater dress, with denim leggings (that also have sippers on the calf to the ankle), and zebra striped ballet like slippers. It was perfect for the mild fall weather today. I also wore earrings lol. Life changing.
outfitted in:
sweater dress - a no brand from the PX at the VA Hospital
denim leggings (jeggings?) - by Miley Cyrus (snort) via thrift store
shoes: brand ?? from a thrift store.
earrings - given to me by my sister - long strands of blue buttons. She probably made them from Pinterest. She's gifted that way.
I may have to totally steal Grace's Mass Report Card, but that doesn't feel right at this time. I will report that my kids did really well. Their dad had to spend the morning at work switching servers, and he attended Mass this evening at the Cathedral - so they did really well in a new church with just me!
....and I guess...that's it? Well, that's what I worse Sunday! Now...do I title these entries as volumes? weeks? LOL! Come and join me. You know you want to be pressured to try a little harder on Sundays too. You KNOW I needed it! ;) Or - maybe you are always fashionable in your jeans or dress! Blessings!

I have a Miley Cyrus tank top and leggings and love them. On super sale at Walmart (I'm not proud!). If they look good, they look good!
ReplyDeleteYay!! So glad you commented and I found your blog. Love your outfit. I hope you do it weekly!! Jealous that you have Miley Cyrus Jegs -- ha!!
ReplyDeleteAnd really love your new haircut. I'm so tempted to chop mine -- every single day.
congrats on jumping in the link up party! And you even wore an animal print shoe on your first outfit - awesome! I love how you paired a sweater dress with jeggings....the whole thing looks great! And on such a special weekend for your family :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for participating in our linkup! Other than posting a picture of your outfit, there really are no other rules. We created it to show what "real" women wear to mass so there are no worries at all if you have no idea where you bought an item or if it's from 5 years ago, lol. If it works, it works. :-D
ReplyDeleteI love the sweater dress, I have so many of them myself but I can't wear them anymore since I have a nursing baby. Happy anniversary to your Godparents too, 60 years is awesome!
Oh man, your sweater dress is awesome. I've never owned one, but you're making me think I should!
ReplyDeletearen't you the trendy one...apparently black and navy are to be worn together. on purpose (via Ain't no mom jeans)...LOL! Love the new 'do and ditto on the not having 52 outfits, so I'm hoping for inspiration as to how to change it up and work what I've got! :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Tracy
You are right, we are twins! Too bad I didn't put my glasses on for the picture this time! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAs I said to Tracy http://makingthetrek.wordpress.com/ I think that the real fun of WIWS will come when we all start getting creative with our limited clothing! I have a feeling we will end up "matching" more than this once.
Great outfit! I'm new this week too. I'm hoping to participate regularly...maybe this will give me the spark I need to put some actual thought into my Sunday
ReplyDeletewardrobe...maybe...
I like your sweater dress! I really need to try one!
ReplyDeleteYou're rocking those thrifty finds!
ReplyDeleteHey - on Sunday, I wore faded workout pants, and a ratty T-Shirt. Awesome, huh?! :)
ReplyDelete60 years- that's awesome! I love the sweater dress + leggings look. Yours is the 2nd I've seen from WIWS, so I might have to jump on the bandwagon!
