- I'm a wife to Hubby and mama to our 8 year old daughter "Lovely", our almost 4 year old daughter "Valiant", two year old "Gift" and one precious soul in heaven. I've coded their names based on their meanings and I think it fits them all. I love time with my family and friends, faith, music, the violin, taking pictures, being in nature, reading, learning, counting my blessings, and blogging. God is Good, Jesus is in my heart, and I got a pocket full o' sunshine...and yes, I'm spelling "Rosey" with the "e"!

Reflection of Joy not being Happiness:
"I had thought joy to be rather synonymous with happiness, but it seems now to be far less vulnerable than happiness. Joy seems to be a part of an unconditional will to live, not holding back because life may not meet our preferences and expectations. Joy seems to be a function of the willingness to accept the whole, and to show up to meet with whatever is there. It has a kind of invincibility that attachment to any particular outcome would deny us. Rather than the warrior who fights toward a specific outcome and therefore is haunted by the specter of failure and disappointment, it is the lover drunk with the opportunity to love despite the possibility of love, the player for whom playing has become more important than winning or losing.
"The willingness to win or lose moves us out of an adversarial relationship to life and into a powerful kind of openness. From such a position, we can make a greater commitment to life. ReplyDelete2nd...LOVE that blue chair & cushion & baby picture. I've never seen a cool chair & cushion like that before. Where did you find it??
Elisa - THANKS!! The chair belonged to my mother and she had it for years...probably the 60s? And I made the cushion with some fabric from the store last year....I'll let my mom know you loved her chair LOL!!! Thanks girl!
